HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Stipend Program

The Counselor Education program is seeking 18 NJCU Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling students to support their internship experiences. Students who are chosen to participate in this program will receive a $10,000 stipend during their internships ($5,000 during Internship I and $5,000 during Internship II). Students taking their practicum in Fall 2020 are eligible to apply for Cohort 7 and students taking their Practicum on Spring 2021 are eligible to apply for Cohort 8. The deadline to apply for the program is March 22rd, 2021 for Cohort 8 applicants.

NJCU's Counselor Education Department has received a $1,613,131 grant from the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training program for the next four years. This project will support an advanced training program with final internships for 98 diverse master’s degree students in two tracks: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (community agencies, hospitals, and private practice) and School Counseling (elementary, middle, and high schools).
