JERSEY CITY, N.J. | On May 27, the (NJCU) Department of Educational Technology (EdTech) held a doctoral hooding and master's honors ceremony for its 2025 graduates, marking the 10th cohort of EdTech doctoral graduates to earn an Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership.
The NJCU EdTech doctoral and master's programs are nationally recognized for their excellence. The program launched during the 2013-14 academic year as a three-year commitment, with the first graduating class in 2016. The Class of 2025 began their doctoral journey in July 2022.
The Educational Technology Department has previously earned prestigious national rankings for its innovative programs. The department has been ranked 1st in the Nation by the College Affordability Guide, while the Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership was ranked 9th in the Nation by Top Education Degrees. Additionally, the Department's M.A. in Educational Technology was ranked 3rd in the Nation for Online Educational Technology Programs by the Center for Online Education.
Christopher Shamburg, Ed.D., Professor and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Educational Technology Leadership, said: "It's an honor to work with this group of educators. In service and innovation, these graduates don't follow standards—they set the standard. I'm excited to see what they do next."
